Bhonsala Military School & Bhonsala Sainik School, Nagpur celebrated the “26th Anniversary of Kargil Vijay Diwas” on Saturday, 26th July 2025 at Divisional Sports Complex Mankapur, Nagpur with traditional gusto and fervour. Brig Abhijeet Valimbe, Deputy General Officer Commanding, Uttar Maharashtra & Gujarat Sub Area, Nagpur was the Chief Guest for the programme. Shri Mukul Kanitkar, Member Akhil Bhartiya Karyakarini (Prachar Vibhag) of RSS was the Key Note Speaker.
As a part of the celebrations, a route march was carried out by the cadets of the school followed by a function at Divisional Sports Complex, Mankapur, Nagpur. The route march taken by the eight contingents including a horse mounted column and the School Pipe and Drum band is as follows:-
Bishop Cotton School Ground – Liberty Sq – Sadar Main Road – Haldiram Sq – Koradi Road – Nelson Sq – Divisional Sports Complex, Mankapur.
Wg Cdr V Deepika Rao, Commanding Officer 2 Mah Air Sqn NCC received the salute from an Ad Hoc ‘Saluting Base’ created near Haldiram square Sadar, Nagpur.
The Route March was followed by presentation of ‘Guard of Honour’ to the Chief Guest, laying of wreath at a make-shift 'War Memorial' and a commemorative function held at Divisional Sports Complex, Mankapur.
The programme inside the complex commenced with welcome address. Thereafter, the cadets presented the school song followed by glimpse of Kargil Vijay Diwas celebration by Bhonsala Military School over the years. Col Amarendra Hardas, Commandant threw light on various aspects of Kargil War through the Power Point Presentation.
Brig Abhijeet Valimbe, In his address emphasized that the Kargil conflict was not only faught with weapons but also with immense courage, indomitable spirit and unyielding determination. He emphasized all Indians to be united and work as team to safeguard the motherland.
Shri Mukul Kanitkar emphasized that the Operation Sindur is yet not over, it is just a temporarily halt because of the incapability of the enemy nation. He urged the audience not to forget the glorius past of our freedom fighters and Indian soldiers who sacrifies their life for the sake of nation.
After the validictory address, Chief Guest Brig Abhijeet Valimbe was presented with school memento by the Sanjay Joshi, Treasurer, CHMES, Nagpur and Shri Mukul Kanitkar presented school memento by Shri Ajay Shirke, Principal, BMS, Nagpur.
Office bearers of CHME Society Nagpur division Shri Suryaratan Daga, Chairman, Shri Shailesh Joglekar, Chairman, BMS Nagpur, Shri Rahul Dixit, Secretary and Shri Sanjay Joshi, Treasurer were present on the dias. Dr J S Riar, Principal, BSS, Nagpur proposed the vote of thanks and Mrs Asmita Deo conducted the proceedings. The function was attended by all the cadets, military and civil dignitaries, general public and a large number of parents. The programme culminated with reciting of National Anthem by all.
