Following deep-rooted academic and spiritual traditions, Bhonsala Military School and Bhonsala Sainik School celebrated the auspicious occasion of ‘Guru Purnima Utsav’ on July 29, 2026. The event was marked by deep reverence, gratitude and traditional fervor, underscoring the core principles of India's ancient student-teacher heritage.

Speaking at the event, Ramdandee Sudhanshu Gudadhe of Class X emphasized the evolving yet timeless role of a guide. He highlighted that a Guru transcends the boundaries of standard classroom instruction.

“A Guru is much more than a teacher - they are someone who guides us, inspires us and helps us to become better human beings.”

He further extended his appreciation to the multi-layered support system at the military school, expressing his sincere gratitude to the teachers, wardens and training instructors for their unwavering patience, round-the-clock dedication and constant encouragement.

Addressing the young Ramdandees, Mrs Shilpa Malhar spoke at length about the sacred, historical bond between a teacher and a disciple. She provided historical context on why Guru Purnima has been celebrated across the Indian subcontinent since ancient times. She explained that mentorship can manifest in various areas of life. “A guru can be anyone who helps us to reach our highest potential – a teacher, a mentor, a parent or even a friend. They show us what is possible and enable us to make those possibilities a reality or turn them into practice.”

To conclude her address and invoke blessings, she led the entire gathering in the collective recitation of the revered traditional Sanskrit mantra:

गुरुर्ब्रह्मा गुरुर्विष्णुः गुरुर्देवो महेश्वरः।
गुरुः साक्षात् परं ब्रह्म तस्मै श्री गुरवे नमः॥

After the formal function, the Chief Guest along with the Commandant planted saplings near Auditorium area. The programme was chaired by Shri Rahul Dixit, Secretary, CHMES, Nagpur Division along with Col Amrendra Hardas, Commandant, Bhonsala Military School & Bhonsala Sainik School, Nagpur, Shri Ajay Shirke, Principal, Bhonsala Military School, Nagpur, Dr. Jasvinder Singh Riar, Principal, Bhonsala Sainik School, Nagpur, Sqn Ldr Sangeeta Thakur, Chief Administrative and Training Officer, teachers and military instructors were present on the occasion.
