2. General. The Comdt started the meeting by complimenting the parent representatives for their attendance. He stated that the role of parent representative is very important in sensitizing other parents and improving their contribution.
3. Academic Results. The u/m issues were discussed :-
(a) Secondary & Higher Secondary Board Results: 2016 - 17. The Comdt expressed satisfaction on the board results. He stated that the HSSC results were well above the expectations. But the SSC results were not upto the desired standards and could have been better. He said that the primary reason Class XII cadets did well was because throughout the year, they had maintained good discipline and were focused. He requested the parents to impress upon their wards on this aspect.
(b) Unit Test - I. While presenting the analysis of Unit Test – I, the Comdt stated that the overall result are very poor and not upto the mark. He stated that despite repeated request to the parents to attend the result day; the attendance continues to remain poor. He further added that those who come, pay no need to their childs performance. They are more interested in merry making and meeting their wards. This is conveying a wrong message to the students. He requested the parents to question their wards as well as the teachers on the performance of their wards.
(c) Tuition Classes. The tuition classes are being conducted regularly and are being monitored by the Head Master and residential teachers. The Comdt also informed that teachers are focusing on completion of the course for Class XI & Class XII and are maintaining the laid down schedule.
(d) NDA Classes. The Comdt showed concern over the negative attitude of cadets towards NDA exam. Despite having capability, they have not tried hard enough to succeed. The school has tried to give every possible facility to cadets for preparation. He requested the parents to join hands to ensure that the cadets do well in the competitive exams.
4. Discipline. The Comdt showed deep concern over levels of discipline and attendance in school. He said that from June to Sept 17, nearly 20 mobiles,

Issue Raised by Representatives
10. Concern over Academic Result. Parents Representative from Class X showed concern about the Unit Test - I result. He said that the cadets have complained about physical activities in the morning session, which makes them tired. Also, they were not getting enough time for studies. The Comdt informed the parents that Class X to XII are not engaged in most of the activities. There is no military training or PT for them. All the do is to go for a 15 min run. Thereafter, they take a bath, change into uniform and attend tuition classes. Hence, to say that they get tired is not correct.
11. Complaint about Hostel Warden. Class VIII representative complained about the personal conduct of one of the warden of Tanaji Bhavan. The Comdt assured that he will look into the matter and will take appropriate action.
12. Lack of Supervision in Breaks. Class VI representative complaint about a fight that had broken out between two cadets which was not interfered by any person. The Comdt informed that all breaks (short & lunch) are monitored by two nominated staff members. The absence of staff will be looked into.
13. Suggestion about Drinking Water Facility. Class V A representative objected about drinking water facility near washrooms in school building. The Comdt stated that the matter will be addressed.
14. Suggestion for Installation of Lightening Conductor. Class VI A representative suggested about installation of lightening conductor in premises. The Comdt assured that suggestion will be recommended further for implementation.
15. Cutting of Diwali Vacation for Class X. Class X B representative suggested that for Class X cadets, diwali vacation should be of eight (08) days instead of 15 days. The Comdt expressed inability to implement it because of administrative difficulties.
16. Conclusion. The Comdt concluded the meeting by thanking the parents for attending and requested them to continue to co-operate in all the endeavaurs so that together we are able to provide the best atmosphere for development of the cadets.
